Look-up Research Service for Non-members
If you are unable to get to our Family Research Centre (FRC) in person and are not a NZSG member, our volunteers are willing to conduct look-ups on your behalf and email you the results. There is a minimum fee of one hour, charged at $50 per hour.
However, you may first like to consider that members of our Society get free research as often as they want for specific questions, as well as many other benefits. Have a look at our Membership Benefits page.
Have you had a look at our Kiwi Collection? It has three levels of access, so as a non-member you can access a small proportion of the available records.
We charge $50 per hour for research look-ups for non-members—after paying for two such hours you would almost have spent the amount of the annual membership fee. You may like to consider joining the Society as a member as this is by far the most cost-effective solution to your ongoing researches.
If you do wish us to carry out research for you as a non-member, it is charged at $50 per hour (in minimum blocks of one hour) and we require a deposit in advance of two hours (half of which is refundable if only one hour’s research is actually undertaken).

If you are looking for a professional researcher you may like to contact the Association of Professional Genealogists or the Register of Qualified Genealogists. Both websites allow you to search by geographical area.

The look-up service is provided 'as is', and NZSG disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and disclaims any guarantees of outcome.
NZSG is not liable for any incidental, indirect, or consequential loss or damage.
Clients are responsible for providing all known prior information to avoid billing for repeated work without cause.
