Auckland Family History Expo 2026

Friday 9 October to Sunday 11 October 2026, King's College, 41 Golf Avenue, Ōtāhuhu, Auckland 1062

We’re delighted to share updates about the Auckland Family History Expo 2026,which will take place over three exciting days in October. The Expo brings together family historians, genealogists, industry organisations, and researchers from across New Zealand, Australia and beyond.

Planning Update

Planning for this year’s Auckland Family History Expo is well underway, and we’re excited by the incredible level of interest we’ve received so far. We’ve been working hard reviewing a wide range of Expressions of Interest from potential speakers, and we feel truly privileged to have such knowledgeable and inspiring experts keen to be involved. The range of topics suggested is outstanding, and it’s shaping up to be a rich and engaging programme.

As we refine the schedule, we’ve identified a few gaps where additional expertise would be especially valuable. For example, we are currently seeking an experienced Family Tree Maker user who could lead a hands-on workshop (in addition to presentations by Family Tree Maker experts that are already planned). If this sounds like someone you know—we would love to hear from you! We are also interested in Experts who can hold workshops using other genealogy software too.

Exhibitors Confirmed So Far

We’re excited to share a fantastic line-up of exhibitors already confirmed for this year’s Expo!

Exhibitor expressions of interest are still coming in—have you submitted yours yet? Get in touch with [email protected] if you are interested. It’s only $50 a table for the whole weekend!

Attendees will have the chance to connect with a wide range of organisations and experts, including:

Raffle Prize Donations

Raffle prizes are always a highlight of the Expo, bringing excitement to attendees while offering great exposure for supporting organisations. Raffle prizes usually donated range from DNA kits and genealogy website subscriptions, through to society memberships, magazine subscriptions, books—and even non-genealogy related prizes like hairdressing and beauty vouchers, restaurant and cafe vouchers . . . No prize too big or too small!

If you are able to donate a prize, we would be very grateful. All contributions will be acknowledged in our Expo publicity, providing valuable visibility while helping us keep entry costs low—or free—for everyone.

Every donation makes a difference. If you, or someone you know, would like to contribute, please get in touch and help us make this year’s Expo a memorable success.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Our Expo simply wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of our sponsors. We’re incredibly grateful to Ancestry, Auckland Council Libraries, FamilySearch, Family Tree Maker, MyHeritage, The National Army Museum, the Genealogical Computing Group and New Zealand Micrographics Services for once again backing this year’s event.

To continue delivering a high-quality experience—and to keep the Expo free for attendees—we are seeking additional sponsors. Every contribution, big or small, helps ensure the success and accessibility of this much-loved event. Interested in getting involved? Whether you’d like to sponsor the Expo, a speaker, or a session, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch to explore the options and be part of something special. Contact [email protected].

Thank you to these sponsors:

Other Ways to Support

If you’re unable to provide sponsorship for the Expo but would like to make a financial contribution, or if you’re interested in sponsoring a talk (some remuneration is provided to speakers per presentation), we’d love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] to discuss options and register your interest.
