Using the Local Kiwi Resources
Always note that many regional museums have a small staff and lots of volunteers. They may not answer your query right away. If you are planning to visit to do research, get in touch first so they can be prepared.
Getting It Right - Travelling with your Family History
We have included searchable cemetery databases within this guide. However, if you are not sure where someone is buried, you might like to consult the NZSG Cemeteries Collection on the Kiwi Collection.
The NZSG Library also contains a myriad of local books from schools to significant anniversaries to general and specific histories. You might also like to look for family histories from your area of interest. Have a look in the catalogue!
Councils often have libraries and archives that might provide further information. These are included under the council's listing.
