Meetings and Venue
Our meetings are held on a Saturday afternoon four times per year at the Tawa Union Church Centre, 6 Elena Place, Tawa, Wellington. They are advertised on the NZSG Events Calendar and on the NZSG MEM-LST message board. We alternate research days and guest speaker days, and our AGM is held in May.
We also attend advertised Family History Month events and other Branch/Group research days in the Lower North Island.
Resources
We have a comprehensive range of Scottish research material including books, magazines, maps, CD’s, and Microfiche. Items can be borrowed for a short period.
There is also access to the library items of the National SIG.
Publications
We publish a short newsletter prior to our quarterly meetings and also send out any relevant information as it is received. This information is sent to the people and groups on our email list.
We also publish the following booklet:
- Online Scottish Family History Society and other Genealogical Resources
and have the following brochures available:
- Genealogy on the Cheap
- Family History Research – Getting Started
Membership
There is no membership fee for the SIG-GW group but we do highly encourage any attendees to join the NZSG organisation and/or the NZSG National SIG. See NZSG Interest Group - Scottish.
We have a meeting door fee of $3.00 per person.
