July meeting. Sue Garside has been a genealogist for over 35 years. Five years ago, she began studying for a PhD through Massey University. Her research is based on using genealogy techniques to trace steerage emigrants who travelled to Nelson on the New Zealand Company ships that arrived 1841-44. She is nearing the end of her thesis project and looks forward to updating you on what she has found.
